Motorola Droid X Bricks Itself If You Try to Mod It

The thing I love the most by using Android phones is its openess, freely modifiable. But, lately Download Squad reported that Motorola Droid X could brick itself if you try to modify it. A system called eFuse disables bootloader once it finds any modification to the bootloader itself, firmware, or Android kernel.

So, it's not open source anymore, you might think. I don't know. I agree if manufacturers void warranty if you mod an Android phone. But implementing a technology like eFuse just doesn't make a sense to me.
